Legion TD 2: Progress Report 2

Currently, much of the game itself is nearly playable. Creeps spawn, towers turn into fighters and are restored, and all pathing properly works. The first two races are nearly complete. Terrain, other than the basic layout, has not been worked on yet. Still a lot of work to go, but I am happy with the progress so far, especially given the numerous bugs in the data editor, and the difficulty of it even when things are working.

A public forum will be opened for Legion TD 2 when development has progressed enough to require one.

Legion TD 2: Progress Report 1

Legion TD 2 is making great progress since the retail release of Starcraft 2. I am now working closely with another designer, and this has been helping speed things up. However, in our effort to release only games of the highest quality, it will take quite some time before Legion TD 2 is released to the public.

A public forum will be opened for Legion TD 2 when development has progressed enough to require one.

Version 1.60 Released!

New update! Version 1.60 introduces a new race: Elf, and a new game-mode: -ns. A handful of balance changes. Reduced lag, improved a few tooltips. Reenabled HostBot Command Library (HCL).

Legion TD 1.60 to be released on Tuesday...

While we wait for Starcraft 2, I am working on an update for Legion TD on Warcraft 3! Version 1.60 will feature a new race (pictured above), balances, and bug fixes. It will also reenable HCL support and reduce lag. This update will be available for download on Tuesday, July 20. Looks like v1.50c isn't the final Official Legion TD after all.

Legion TD Sequel from Lisk

As many of you have heard, I am currently developing a Legion TD Sequel for Starcraft 2, using the Beta version of the Galaxy Editor. Here's a quick look at some of the features planned so far:

    A Fresh Look...
  • Legion TD 2 will run exclusively on the Starcraft 2 Galaxy engine, featuring vibrant 3D armies and landscapes.

  • Improved Code...
  • More structured code, written from the ground up using the new Galaxy language. This will reduce lag, eliminate random bugs, and allow a variety of new game modes.
  • Dramatically improved Fighter & Creep AI. No more melee creeps running around, or units getting stuck.

  • New Content...
  • Several new Game Modes are in the works (details soon to come). All game modes available in the original will be available in Legion TD 2 as well.
  • Five entirely new Races. Like the original, additional races will be introduced after release.

  • Free to Play...
  • Starcraft 2 supports Premium Maps which require additional fees to play. Legion TD 2 will require nothing but a valid copy of Starcraft 2 and an internet connection for online play.

Version 1.50c & Editor's Version Released!

Final update of Legion TD! Version 1.50c fixed some bugs and tooltips. Removed Tidal Wave from Sea Giant, and buffed dmg to compensate. Various balance changes. King Control improved. This is the final official version of Legion TD for Warcraft 3. I have released an Editor's Version of the map, for people who are interested in continuing Legion TD. You can also find it in the downloads section.

Version 1.50b Released!

New update! Version 1.50b fixes lag issues, an exploit, and several bugs. Nerfed a few Marine fighters & increased prices of Hybrid Tier 3, Tier 5, and Tier 6 slightly.

Version 1.50 Released!

New update! Version 1.50 fixes several minor bugs, and introduces various balance changes. Added two new races: Marine and Hybrid. Added new game modes: -rd (Random Draft), -fr (Fixed Random), -hg (Hourglass), -nm (No Middle). Implemented support for HostBot Command Library (HCL)--so bots can now type in game-modes. A new text command, -cls "clear screen," and several new debug commands.

Version 1.50 to be released on Tuesday...

Version 1.50 will feature two new races, four new game modes, and many balances & bug fixes. The update also features improvements in AI, as well as a wider area above the King. Full changelog will be released with the new version.

Version 1.42 Released!

New update! Version 1.42 fixes a few bugs. Lots of balances: mainly, mech buffed. Sell changed to 50% from 70%. Level 20 nerfed slightly, but deals Chaos damage. Improved short mode (-sm). Changed middle area to a different grass tile. Middle area gives less armor (+1, from +3).

Version 1.41d Released!

New update! Version 1.41d fixes a few bugs (some level bounties fixed). Various balance changes--mostly buffs to underpowered units. King control improved. Addede -king command: displays King's stats. Added two additional ending scoreboard stats.

Version 1.41c Released!

New update! Version 1.41c fixes a few bugs. Summons weakened. Creeps that reach the middle building areas now receive +3 armor. End Round Gold decreased, but Kill Bounty increased. Various fighter balances. A new game-mode: -sd. Added hotkeys for summons.

Version 1.41b Released!

New update! Version 1.41b fixes several bugs, replaces Oracle's Divination with a new ability, King regeneration no longer bugged. Air units don't stack, and a few other balances. A new command "-info" and couple new debug commands. Thanks to Smiddie & Clan LTDW for testing this version.

Version 1.40 Released!

New update is finally here! Version 1.40 fixes several bugs & abuses. Many balance changes (Hades nerfed, for one). New terrain by LilBlueSmurf, and a new race: Demi-Human. Creeps/Summons are spread-out upon creation. Added two new game-modes: -sm and -mm and a quest entry for Game Modes. Added the -zoom text command. Improved -debug functionality, and some pathing improvements. New loading screen and preview picture.
